About
Founded in 2016, New Everlasting Community Outreach, Inc. (NECO), is a non-profit organization, based in Englewood, IL. We serve 5,000 Chicago residents annually, though Out-of-School programming, computer literacy, and life-skills development (for men, women, and children). N.E.C.O. serves individuals and families in low-income areas (in Englewood) and Greater Chicago.
Our community partnership approach begins at the premise, "there is no single factor responsible for violence against women and children, poor economic conditions, homelessness, child safety, or drug abuse." We believe that family safety and strength depends on the connection to a broad range of people, organizations, anchor institutions, and resources. N.E.C.O. aspires to secure a future, where all vulnerable populations have access to necessary training and resources to become self-sufficient. We are committed to strengthening vulnerable families and communities, such as Englewood. Our existence embodies a strong sense of service, civic engagement, advocacy, and activism. We believe a community is truly as strong as its weakest members, and it is our duty to empower vulnerable populations. We are proud partners of One Summer Chicago, Archdiocese of Chicago & the Chicago Department of Public Health Our partners help us to provide employment opportunities for youth and free food programmings over the course of the summer months.
Our mission is to empower Chicago residents to share the responsibility of building our communities, through shared resources and strategic partnerships that address the various issues correlated with community participation, economic development, health, and education. Our vision is to assist underserved neighborhoods in becoming self-sufficient ecosystems, by nurturing positive thoughts and behavior in the home and the greater community.
